Women s Indoor Track & Field: Titans Picked to Finish First in the PAC

GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released the results of its 2014-15 Women's Indoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches' Poll Thursday and Westminster College was selected by the league's head coaches to capture the conference's first-ever championship.

Westminster and eighth-year head coach Tim McNeil collected four first-place votes and 75 total points to headline the coaches' poll. The Titans claimed the unofficial league's indoor titles in 2013 and in 2014.



The Titans who were labeled 'To Watch For' were senior distance runner Jenny Jones (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf), junior pole vaulter Marissa Kalsey (Waynesburg, Pa./Waynesburg Central), junior sprinter Alicia Nuzzo (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock), junior hurdler Marissa Toensing (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls), and junior sprinter Caitlin Yakopin (Washington, Pa./Trinity).

Grove City College finished second on the poll after totaling three-first place votes and 74 points. Waynesburg University finished third, garnering the final two first-place votes and 65 points. Bethany College was picked fourth (46 pts.), followed by Washington & Jefferson College in fifth (36 pts.), Geneva College in sixth (33 pts.), Thomas More College in seventh (31 pts.), Thiel College in eighth (25 pts.) and Saint Vincent College in ninth (20 pts.).

This year's championship is scheduled for Thursday, February 26 at Youngstown State University's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).

Westminster will start its season on Friday when it competes in the Youngstown State University Icebreaker.
