ST. PAUL, Minn. — Tyler Kircher (Cashton, Minn.) set the stage on Friday, and Morris Dennis (Elk River, Minn.) recorded the perfect encore—in record-setting fashion. Just a day after Kircher uncorked a career-best throw of 50.83 meters to win the hammer throw at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, Dennis gave the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota track and field team its second conference champion, as the Cardinal freshman blew away the field in winning the 400 with a school-record time of 48.42.
