Cross Country: Titans Compete at NCAA Regionals

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Westminster College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the 2014 NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championships on Saturday hosted by Dickinson College.

The Titan women's team finished 27th out of 52 schools with 894 points. Senior Jenny Jones (Erie, PA / Fort LeBoeuf) paced the Titans with a 71st-place finish (23:52.5) out of 370 runners. Rounding out the top-five finishers for the Titan women's team were first-year Katelynn Morrell (Boardman, OH / Boardman) (24:44.4), first-year Paige Baierl (Bellevue, PA / Northgate) (25:34.9), first-year Kristen Polk (Allison Park, PA) (27:06.0), and sophomore Jenny Rodgers (State College, PA / State College) (27:12.9).

The Titan men's team finished 35th out of 47 schools with 1,048 points. Sophomore Matt Slagle (Bruin, PA / Karns City) crossed the finished line first for Westminster at 28:11.0. The other top-five finishers for the Titan men's team were sophomore John-Scott Somora (Grove City, PA / Grove City) (28:45.4), freshman Trevor Arrigoni (Canonsburg, PA) (28:52.9), freshman David Waldschmidt (New Castle, PA) (29:33.7), and sophomore Nate Best (Parker, PA) (30:05.2).
